Mugaya Factory is run by the Mutira Farmers Cooperative Society and consists of almost 1,900 smallholder farmers. Each farmer cultivates small plots of land, less than one hectare, where coffee trees grow alongside other crops. Through close collaboration with agronomists from Sucafina and Kahawa Bora, farmers gain access to soil analysis and technical support, ensuring that both their crops and the quality of their coffee cherries remain high, leading to increased income for the farmers and better coffee for you.

At Mugaya, nothing is left to chance. The cherries are hand-picked at perfect ripeness and carefully sorted before undergoing the washing station's rigorous processes. It is this focus on detail – throughout the entire process – that makes Mugaya one of the most exciting processing stations in Kenya today.
