Kaffa takes your privacy seriously. We want you to trust us and how we handle your personal data. In this privacy statement, we explain why we collect information about you, how we use this information, and how we protect your privacy.

Cookies
We use cookies to optimize our website for our visitors and customers, as well as for traffic analysis and personalized ads. 

The purpose of our collection of cookies is to provide the online store with basic functionality such as session management, analysis, personalization, and marketing.  You will find an updated and complete overview at the bottom of this document.

Our own cookies, so-called first-party cookies, are necessary for the website to function. These make it possible to remember logins, shopping carts, page settings, and similar.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

ANALYSIS AND COOKIES

Kaffa.no collects anonymized data about visitors to Kaffa.no for analysis. 

By anonymized data, we mean information that cannot be traced back to a user or a person. The purpose of this is to collect statistics that can be used to further develop and improve the website. Examples of this type of data include: the number of visitors to the page, how the page is used, the duration of the visit, where users come from, and which browsers are used. 

We also collect search terms used via the search engine on the website. This is solely to improve search results and the customer experience, and no information traceable to the user is collected. 

Data we use for analysis is processed on the basis of legitimate interest. (GDPR art. 6 f).

 This way, we can better understand how the website is used and thus improve the experience for our visitors. At the same time, we can more easily understand the effect of our optimizations and marketing efforts.

Personalization

To provide you with a relevant and good experience in our online store, we use features and systems to personalize content so that it is tailored to you and your interests. This includes your IP address, browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.), operating system (Windows, Mac OS, etc.), clicks or other relevant interaction with advertising, which pages you have viewed, and similar. 

We only personalize content on our website if you have consented. Such consent can be given through settings in a pop-up window or when it has been a long time since your last visit to the site. 

Marketing

We use cookies and pixels to personalize our online marketing. This only happens if you have given your consent. Such consent can be given through settings in a pop-up window that appears on your first visit or when it has been a long time since your last visit to the site. Alternatively, you can give or withdraw consent. If consent is not given, we will only use generic advertisements and other forms of targeting. 

We want our marketing to be relevant and valuable to you at all times, so the content will usually be customized. In this context, we may use profiling in the form of information about gender, date of birth, and address from other sources, as well as information about what you have purchased. We and our partners track ads to know which ones you have viewed online and which products you have viewed with us. This allows us to customize the store to your interests and show you relevant ads next time. 

Additionally, if you have consented, we will ensure that you receive fewer ads for products you have already purchased, and instead receive offers for related goods and services or other products we believe will be relevant to you. For customer matching, we may exchange your contact information with third-party platform providers, such as Google and Meta, to match you with the information you have provided to them. In addition to your contact details, this may involve the exchange of information such as your name, city, county, gender, postal code, IP addresses, and any identification numbers of devices you have used, as well as information about purchases you have made from us. The exchange of such information will be encrypted, only exchanged for customer matching, and will be deleted as soon as customer matching is completed, normally within 48 hours. We may receive reports based on the matching from the relevant third parties, where the information will be anonymized.

Data Retention
Your personal data will be stored as long as necessary to perform the services described in this statement, or as long as the law requires us to retain them. After that, they will be deleted.

Personal data to third parties 

Kaffa will not share, sell, transfer, or otherwise disclose your personal data except as described in the privacy statement. Your data will only be shared if we have a legal basis for doing so, for example, if we are legally obliged, or we obtain your consent. Cooperation partners will only have access to the information if this is necessary to perform services for Kaffa.no. In such cases, data processing agreements are entered into to ensure information security.

Social Media
Kaffa has company pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Users can leave comments there, and we can launch news, product information, competitions, and more. When you visit these pages, personal data about you may be processed. If your post or message appears to be an inquiry, Kaffa will respond to you. We have access to statistics and systematic overviews of posts on the page through standard Facebook/Instagram/YouTube/LinkedIn tools. Please note that as a user, you must comply with Facebook/Instagram/YouTube/LinkedIn's terms and privacy policies when visiting our websites and, for example, making posts. We encourage you to read these terms carefully.

Newsletters and Communication

If you have consented to receive offers and information via email and/or SMS, you will receive newsletters via email and/or SMS about good offers and other mailings to electronic addresses we have received from you. The content of these will often be tailored to you as a recipient, with relevant information and offers, based on your behavior on the website and purchase history. You can request at any time that such inquiries to you cease. This can also be done by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of all automatically generated emails/SMS from Kaffa.no
