A sweet and fresh coffee with hints of nougat, gooseberry & blue grape.

Since 2005, KAFFA has sourced particularly good coffee from small coffee producers in the Santa Barbara district of Honduras. One of our early favorites was coffee from the Don Amado farm, with its unique and fruity flavor profile. The quality of the coffee from this farm has been consistently excellent since they won the Cup of Excellence in 2010.

In 2010, José Amado and his wife Sandra Trochez inherited the farm from Don Amado Sr. They significantly expanded and improved the farm in the years that followed. Sadly, José Amado passed away in 2019, so now Sandra runs the farm with their four children. Here, she primarily grows Pacas, as well as red and yellow Catuai. After picking, the cherries are depulped and dry-fermented for 15 hours. They are then washed and dried on raised drying beds in drying tents for 12-15 days.

We are proud to once again offer coffee from this farm, 20 years after we first purchased coffee from the families in this area.
