The story of Finca La Piragua began in 2000, when Alexander Vargas decided to create something entirely his own. With support from his family, he transformed a wild and overgrown landscape into a lush coffee farm that they now operate with great pride. Together with his wife Lidia, Alexander pours his heart and soul into the work, from the first berries harvested until the coffee is dried and ready for the world.

Since 2006, they have chosen to focus exclusively on specialty coffee to ensure both the quality in the cup and a sustainable livelihood for the family. On the 12 hectares in Huila, they cultivate not only coffee but also colorful dragon fruit to create healthy biodiversity on the farm. For Alexander, this is more than just production; it's a lifestyle characterized by patience and a burning desire to deliver a unique taste experience to coffee lovers worldwide.
